Leveraging Technology for Development
The FHI 360 Information Technology Applications Center (ITAC) is a globally recognized leader in applying information and communication technology (ICT) to accelerate development.
We collaboratively address needs and solve challenges through a combination of innovative design, technologies, and partnerships to improve lives.
From the early days of radio and television to the present era of rapidly evolving wireless connectivity technologies and a growing menu of low-cost end-user devices, FHI 360 has been at the forefront of efforts to help countries reap the benefits of ICT. Working closely with public and private sector partners, the ITAC team develops self-sustaining solutions that help governments, private companies, civic institutions, and ultimately individuals leverage the most appropriate mix of technologies to meet their goals.
We combine our expertise with the resources of multiple FHI 360 centers of excellence and other partners to enable cross-sector and cross-technology solutions that optimize value for people across the world. Whether developing on-line training modules to improve teacher training, creating economic opportunities through expanded Internet connectivity, or enhancing efficiency and transparency of governance through greater information access, ITAC's approach is technology-neutral and results-oriented.
We Understand What Works
ITAC has designed high-impact programs in education, economic growth, trade, agriculture, democracy and governance, and health in every region of the world. Our innovative solutions to complex social issues have made ITAC a leader in its field among public and private institutions alike.
